Hi! Welcome! I'm so glad you're here! I'm really a sculptor, (folks in North America may be familiar with Windstone dragons, and my other fantasy sculptures in gift stores) but by night I'm a perpetual art student! I'm stuggling to learn to draw well, and, like most other humans on the planet it seems, I'm writing a graphic novel (Or rather, I am trying to. Lately I haven't a spare nanosecond to work on it.)
I joined Elfwood for two reasons: to have a place to show my attempts at graphic art, (and some sculpture too, of course) but mostly I joined to talk to, and meet other artists! I'd especially like to talk with other folks who are also attempting, or are interested in, the ultimate art of 'drawn books'. If you leave a comment, I'll do my darndest, as time allows, to respond to your comments, and visit your gallery too!
Now that I have a flat sceen monitor I can see how awful my images look! I couldn't see all the "gunk" that I left on the images in photoshop, because the monitor I was using was so dark .
I am really sorry about the horrible quality of some of my pics. I will edit them when I get time.
Here is a link to the Windstone forum, if you would like to check it out: http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/index.php
...and here is another gallery of my stuff to look at, if you are interested:
http://www.windstoneeditions.com/galleries/thumbnails.php?album=16
and since my email address doesn't want to show up in the upper right box, it is : reptangle (at) gmail (dot) com.
I also need to say this bit- If you want to use any of my art for anything, (this also includes any Windstone stuff) PLEASE, PLEASE ask permission first, from me! I'm not saying this just to be a selfish jerk, it's legally required to protect the copyrights. All of you, who are artists, should state this on your galleries as well. I'd be happy to explain this, if you want to email me.(my email works now) Please visit my daughter, Chessie Alberti, and our resident were-banana, Amber 'Vantid' Hill.
Interests I have a problem with Frank Sinatra, Venitian blinds, peanut butter and glass clowns. I like most everything else.

I’ve found several sites already, but I wish to go to one you’d prefer so I am not scammed online. Thanks Melody Pena replies: "My reply has disappeared! Yes we have a website store: Though we sell out of items so fast it is difficult to find anything in stock unless you check often. ( we are having production problems with the casting material)https://www.windstoneeditions.com/shop/"

| 28 Nov 2009 | Rinda | Loading...I have a pen and ink picture of a unicorn with its nose touching a baby bird that is signed M. Pena copywright 1980. I am looking for another copy. is this you? Melody Pena replies: "Yes that is a print I did in around 1978..? 31 years ago! Pretty old! That one is fairly rare, since it was one of the first we produced and one of the first we retired. It is possible we still have a print or two around, though I am not sure if I can find them! You can email me reptangle (at) gmail (dot) com" | |
| 8 Dec 2009 | Yoni Danziger | Loading...Hey Melody It’s been quite a while since we last talked, how are you doing? Any new sculptures in progress? I’m so excited nowadays, finally I’m going to have my own solo exhibition! There are still six months of hard work ahead but I’m so happy! Melody Pena replies: "Oh I know, I have been so busy I have hardly had time to answer email! I do check your page whenever I gt a notice of new stuff. I enjoy it tremendously. I don’t want to leave a stupid comment like "oh, cool" so I always plan to come beck later when I have time! Congratulations on a show! That is wonderful!" | |
| 12 Dec 2009 | Susie | Loading...Melody- so thrilled to find you. I bought an art print-black and white at an art show in 1981- It is a Unicorn with a mouse hidden in the bottom of the mane. I have cherished it all these years, and it is beautifully framed. Can you tell me if the piece has a name? Iwould love to have a small brass medallion printed for the frame. It is signed M.Pena (c) 1981 - hoping tht might be you! Melody Pena replies: "Oh wow! Yes! that is a print that we published about ...yikes, 1981?!? That was nearly thirty years ago!! Well unfortunately, I am not good at naming things, it is called "Unicorn with Rabbit". I should of given it a more interesting name, since it has allot of meaning and symbolism in it. Thank you so much for the wonderful comment!" | |
| 13 Dec 2009 | Alexa Lee Adamczyk | Loading...i told yoni this once, and ill tell you. you have the patience of the GODS thats not an exaggeration, either. its a strong compliment. Melody Pena replies: "I do have allot of paiteience, but I also had an asistant to help with the sanding and polishing. Dhey did most of the hard tedious work! That is why the dragons look so wonderfully polished." | |
| 19 Dec 2009 | Mia | Loading...Hello Melody, How are you? I am trying to find your Flion. I have had my piece for 20 years and someone broke it. I loved it so much and I cannot find another one. Can you help me? Thank you ....Mia Melody Pena replies: "I am great , thanks!. AHA! A broken Windstone! This another opportunity to plug the Windstone forum! http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/ The forum is a great place to either find a retired piece or find someone who could expertly repair, or who might like to buy, your damaged flion. If you ask in the "Flea market", or "welcome" section you’ll be quickly directed to the right people. It is a very friendly place. Ebay is another good place to search. Flions are fairly rare, but they do show up in the Windstone listing a few times a year. If this isn’t enough info, I am also working ( slowly) on a new flion sculpture that I hope to get going next year! Thank you for the comment , hope to see you on the forum! " | |

I just wanted to tell you about this site: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/search.things?displayurl=elfwood.- com&page=1 They have stolen a lot of art from people and publish them there. I saw one of your there too. Go and tell them off if you don’t like them to steal art.
