The one and only thing I see that catches my eye is that she needs thicker lips. The pose is divine, the wings gorgeous, proportions awesome, this is what I aspire to make (except in polymer clay ) Melody Pena replies: "Her face is a disaster.Maybe I'll get it right someday!Thank you for the comment!" | |

| 6 Jul 2005 | Sara Melissa Bean | Loading...My brain must not be fully functioning, because when I read the title for this I could've sworn it said "little pervert fairy" -- maybe that accounts for her expression! The pose and wings are gorgeous! Melody Pena replies: "if I could change the title to that I sure would! Thank you!" | |
| 13 Jul 2005 | Mallory S York | Loading...Her face looks fine to me, she just doesn't look like the usual young woman face that people give faeries. Instead, she looks like a middle-aged or elderly faerie--and I like her that way, as it gives her character. ^^ Her wings are gorgeous--they caught my attention, because I once drew a three-foot-wide picture of a dragonfly, and I recognized the veining on the wings. Lovely metallic smooth surface, too. I like this piece a lot. *smile* Perhaps you are so hard on ehr face not because she doesn't look proportionate, but because she doesn't look like the same person you had in mind while sculpting her. Melody Pena replies: "Thank you. The face of this sculpture is a mess, no getting around it.I photo shopped it some to get it this good!I did want it to look quirky though, so I guess I succeeded!" | |
| 27 Oct 2005 | Nina Bolen | Loading...I think this little fairy is great and only 2" tall!? Something that small must have been really hard to get all that detail. I think her face looks mischievous and cute. Melody Pena replies: " I have terrible trouble with small things. I am glad we decided not to do a pewter line... dinky stuff isn’t what I do well. Thank you for visiting me!" | |
| 7 Mar 2008 | Stacey ’Nari Jauhara’ Ooms | Loading...I can see where the face might need a little work, but then no works are perfect, are they? Especially not in the artists own view. The pose is beautiful and the wings are positively stunning. | |
| 18 Mar 2008 | Steph Steph Salt | Loading...I think that she is lovely just as she is her face reminds me of the Cornish fairy Joan the Wad, and besides I also love the art neauvo style of her. Please forgive my spelling I can never get the spelling of that word correct lol | |
