Yes, she has a very goofy face. This is a small sculpture, about 2' high, cast in pewter, with an antiqued brass finish. If this piece ever gets produced, I'll need to fix a bunch of stuff on her first!

I just put it together. I have all your gargoyles (well, grotesques). I adore this little fairy. The one and only thing I see that catches my eye is that she needs thicker lips. The pose is divine, the wings gorgeous, proportions awesome, this is what I aspire to make (except in polymer clay 2 )

:-) Melody Pena replies: "Her face is a disaster.Maybe I'll get it right someday!Thank you for the comment!"

My brain must not be fully functioning, because when I read the title for this I could've sworn it said "little pervert fairy" -- maybe that accounts for her expression!

The pose and wings are gorgeous! 2

:-) Melody Pena replies: "if I could change the title to that I sure would! Thank you!"

Her face looks fine to me, she just doesn't look like the usual young woman face that people give faeries. Instead, she looks like a middle-aged or elderly faerie--and I like her that way, as it gives her character. ^^ Her wings are gorgeous--they caught my attention, because I once drew a three-foot-wide picture of a dragonfly, and I recognized the veining on the wings. Lovely metallic smooth surface, too. I like this piece a lot. *smile* Perhaps you are so hard on ehr face not because she doesn't look proportionate, but because she doesn't look like the same person you had in mind while sculpting her.

:-) Melody Pena replies: "Thank you. The face of this sculpture is a mess, no getting around it.I photo shopped it some to get it this good!I did want it to look quirky though, so I guess I succeeded!"

I think this little fairy is great and only 2" tall!? Something that small must have been really hard to get all that detail. I think her face looks mischievous and cute.

:-) Melody Pena replies: " I have terrible trouble with small things. I am glad we decided not to do a pewter line... dinky stuff isn’t what I do well. Thank you for visiting me!"

I can see where the face might need a little work, but then no works are perfect, are they? Especially not in the artists own view. The pose is beautiful and the wings are positively stunning.

I think that she is lovely just as she is her face reminds me of the Cornish fairy Joan the Wad, and besides I also love the art neauvo style of her.
Please forgive my spelling I can never get the spelling of that word correct lol
