| 20 Jun 2006 | Starr Raven pierced07@aol...com> | Loading...gorgeous start! I do agree about the stubby end of the wings. Didn't go with the flow much. I love the detail for the most part. Would've loved to have seen a windblown mane, but I'm sure that would be hard to do considering pieces of that stuff can break so easily. I love him though! Melody Pena replies: "I changed the wings and made them longer in the new version.. Now it will be REALLY hard to cast! Thank you so much for the comments!" | |
| 30 Oct 2006 | Luke | Loading...I'm a dragon fan, but have always had a love for horses. Just purchased a retired "white" pegasus for my niece, to get her started with your collection, and a "black" for me. I'm affraid I'm a Melody Pena "addict". And prety darn certain if this one makes it to stores, I'll have it. My new house is being equiped with 12 tall book cases to specifically display my windstone collection. First thing people will see in my home, and proudly so. But they'll go on the lower shelve, so people can get up close with all of them. I've purchased 24 pieces in the last 3 weeks. I think I need a 12 step program! "My name is Greg, and I'm a Melody Pena, windstone addict"! There, I've taken the first step! Greg | |

The way he is at the moment rememinds me of a sculpture just coming to life out of the marble (an idea capitalized on by another artist in the model horse media in something called the "Tricked Out Pony Contest", if you’re at all familiar with Breyer Models) This guy is beautiful though. The head study listed earlier is very classic and very much in the Romantic style and I love that. The pose is beautiful too. Hope to see him in production soon! | |

| 7 Mar 2011 | Kit | Loading...I have worked with clay, and I attempted to make a horse and I cannot believe the patience you must have for this, because it tokk me days to finish and legs and tails kept breaking off! Melody Pena replies: "This sculpture took me forever! - and he still isn’t finished. Legs are definitely a problem with horses! I have had several total disasters myself. I prefer to make a rough sculpture out of clay and then have it cast in plaster for the detail work. I still break stuff, but it is not as easy to accidentally ruin previously sculpted areas. Thank you for the comment! Glad you stopped buy! " | |
