It's so stunningly beautiful! And you really know how griffins look like! It's just like I imagine them!! I'm wondering though, how do you get the glass eye in after the sculture's finished?? It looks so very nice!! I'd like to learn how to do that myself... for the future! I'm not good enough yet I'm guessing. Anyway, it's wonderful... as all your things are!

:-) Melody Pena replies: "The glass eyes are flat on the back, so they can slide into the eye socket sideways through the wide part of the eye opening. Then they tilt back into position and slide down to rest in the the bottom lid.It is very simple, yet looks impossible! Thank you very much for your comment. I really appreciate that you took time to visit me! Your gallery is magnificent!"

Thank you for the information! I’ll just HAVE to try that out now!! 2 It looks impossible that you can do that with the eye! But very very nice! But it’s gotta be a very tight fit, right!? 2 Anyway, thanx, and do keep up the wonderful work!!

:-) Melody Pena replies: " I have somehow missed answering many comments here. Sorry for the oversight!
Though the eyes usually slip into the sockets easily, sometimes they are a very tight fit! It is tricky to get the sizes just right. Thank you for the comment!"

Love this piece, and although I’m a DRAGON person, I really would love to add this one to my collection. Actually, I’d add all of them if my pocket book was deeper, but wouldn’t we all!
Do you plan on doing a more "realistic" paint theme on a dragon? I know to mass produce a piece like that would be costly and time consuming, but maybe a Signed limited and numbered version. Just curiouse, I Love all your variations. I just wiped out a sellers collection of older retired pieces, Includes Emerald Emperor, emerald scratching, emerald old warior, emerald Lap, and a green male. What a find, all are in original boxed, and a few are mint. Of course, now I don’t know if I can even afford mac and cheese! White rice, here I come.

I would like to do the original color I had envisioned for them, the color that got away from me, and morphed into the very orange "old Brown " color. I had intended it to be a beige sandy color, shaded to dark brown along the spine. You should post pics of your collection on the forum. Thank you for the wonderful comments!

The kindness of your words has always given me a terrific boost. You will always be remembered. Rest in peace dear friend.

Awww! She’s so cute! Sort of mischevious, but sweet... Those eyes are a beautiful shade of blue!

Melody, this is the most incredible Griffin that I’ve been lucky enough to lay my eyes on. Are you the artist that made these incredible pieces? Is there anyway this can be sold? Thank you, your work is truly inspiring.

:-) Melody Pena replies: "Thank you so much for the wonderful complement !
These griffins are available in gift stores in the US. We have a list of dealers on the Windstone webpage, Windstoneeditions.com . If you are not anywhere near a gift store that carries these, we do sell them direct from our online store. We are in the middle of moving our business right now, so we are out of stock on many items. We should be restocking the supply this summer when we get back to work.
You may be able to find these griffins on Ebay as well! Check the Windstone listing.
Sorry to turn this into a commercial, I really appreciate the comment. Thank you so much for visiting! I am glad you like her."

I can’t believe you sculpted that. Admit it, you just painted a griffin white and got it to sit really still while you took the pictures.
